Detour Gold (DGC.TO) has announced an updated production guidance for 2014 at its fully owned Detour Lake Gold project in Ontario, Canada. The company now expects to produce between 450,000 and 500,000 ounces of gold, of which the majority will obviously be produced in the second half of the year, as the project is still in the ramp up phase.

As Goldcorp (G.TO, NYSE:GG) has made a hostile move on Osisko (OSK.TO), a lot of people think Detour Gold will be the next company to be bought out. Agnico Eagle seems to be in the pole position, as another source told us that Agnico was in New York lately to secure a $500M financing package. We were unable to confirm this information as Agnico Eagle has not returned our email on this matter.
