Castle Minerals (ASX:CDT) has released an update on its drill program at the Kpali Gold Project in Northwestern Ghana, close to the border with Ivory Coast. The company drilled 16 holes totaling 1683 meters, which was aimed at drill-testing a 650 meter strike length discovered by soil geochem and RAB drilling.
Of interest are intercepts of 30 meters at 2.02 g/t and 15 meters at 2.38g/t. The mineralization is very consistent and remains open at depth, as the drill holes had an average depth of just 105 meters. Castle Minerals obviously is quite happy with these drill results and will start a 20,000 meter RAB drill program to find out if there are extensions to Kpali in the surrounding land package. We are also keen to see the preliminary drill results from a 1860 meter drill program which was aimed at testing a 1100 meter long mineralized structure at Bundi, which is just 4 kilometers away from Kpali. If some of the Bundi holes show nice intercepts, Castle Minerals could very easily reach the 1Moz threshold.
