Last Friday, Curis Resources Ltd. (CUV.TO) announced they received their Aquifer Protection Permit (APP) from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ).
This APP applies for the design and operation of the Phase I operations at the Florence copper project. After receiving this permit, the company still needs to secure two additional permits (the underground injection control permit and the mined land reclamation plan), both are expected this fall.
Curis is still having problems with the township of Florence, but they can start mining on the State Mineral Lease which has an estimated Life of Mine of approximately 7 years. During those seven years, the company can work together with the town of Florence to resolve all the issues regarding the project.
Maybe Mike McPhie should regularly go drink a glass of sulphuric acid solution on Florence’s market square to ease the fears of the local residents.
