Nevada Copper (NCU.TO) has released some more drill results from some holes drilled at the zone in between the North and South pit on the Pumpkin Hollow project. This drill program was designed to test the zone between the two parts of the pit for mineralized intercepts as Nevada Copper is currently investigating the potential to merge both pits into one super pit.
Anything above 0.2-0.25% copper would have made us happy, so we’re quite excited to see some relatively long intercepts containing a higher than expected copper grade, such as hole 13 which yielded almost 64 meters at 1.39% copper (and 1.6% copper-equivalent), which is an extraordinarily good result.
Finding more mineralization in the so-called ‘Connector Zone’ will be very important for the Pumpkin Hollow project as not only will it allow to re-shape the pit outlines, it will also allow Nevada Copper to re-classify some of the waste as ore, thus reducing the strip ratio and increasing the mine life and NPV of the project.
