Integra Gold (ICG.V) is still continuing its 90,000 meter drill program at the Lamaque gold project in Québec and the company seems to have made the right decision by increasing the originally planned 50,000 meter program. After previously getting a better understanding of the geological model at Lamaque and the discovery of the C-zones, Integra Gold has now announced a new discovery at the Lamaque South property.

That’s really exciting as the new gold targets were just grassroots exploration holes based on the results of a geophysical exploration program. A limited amount of drilling has taken place, but according to CEO Steve de Jong is the new gold mineralization showing almost the exact same characteristics as the other intrusive deposits on the company’s land package. The drill permits have been secured and Integra plans to prioritize drilling to find out what’s underneath the promising geophysical exploration results. Unfortunately the company will first have to be able to gain access to these specific zones, and Integra doesn’t think it will be able to start drilling before January of next year.

Integra is still very excited about the potential of Lamaque as it unveiled a 100,000 meter drill program for 2016 (undoubtedly locking in some very cheap drill rates) resulting in almost 200,000 meters being drilled in the years 2015-2016. Five drill rigs are currently on scene, and Integra plans to increase this amount during the winter drill season.

We are currently in Vancouver and will meet with the company’s management team in the next few days where after you can expect an updated and detailed report from us!
