Mariana Resources (MARL.L) has released more drill results from its Hot Maden project in Turkey and the company seems to be pretty happy with hole number 44 which encountered 36.5 meters of 7.12% zinc, 0.51% copper and 1.8 g/t gold (which would be a zinc-equivalent grade of just over 12%), starting from a depth of just 25.5 meters. Within this interval, the drill bit also intersected a higher grade zone with 13.7% zinc, 1 g/t gold and 0.31% copper over 16.5 meters (for a zinc-equivalent grade of 16.6%).
These are excellent results, and we’re looking forward to the updated resource estimate at Hot Maden which should be released in June. The current resource estimate contains 3 million gold-equivalent ounces, but as Mariana has now drilled high grade mineralization outside of the resource envelope, you could expect the total resources to increase.
