Integra Gold (ICG.V) had some good news for us last week as not only did it intercept more high-grade zones at the known mineralization at Lamaque, it has now also discovered the C7 structure, right underneath the C6 zone. This actually doesn’t surprise us as we already discussed the potential for additional C-structures at depth in some of our previous articles and reports.
This new C7 zone has now been encountered approximately 150 meters below the C6 structure, and the drill bit intersected in excess of 4 meters at 8.14 g/t and 2.4 meters of 6.11 g/t. Sure, these aren’t the ultra high-grade results you are used to see from Lamaque but keep in mind this is just a first pass over the C7 zone, which remains open in all directions whilst the assay results from several more holes below the 1150 meter level are still pending.
In other news, Integra continues to pull very impressive intercepts out of the ground at the C1 and C2 structures, with 3 meters of 10.43 g/t gold in C1 and 5.9 meters of 21.63 g/t (!) in C2. That’s an excellent result as these zones will be mined first (according to the current mine plan), so the confirmation of the continuity and consistency is very important for Integra Gold (you’d obviously want to avoid a Rubicon-scenario). Additionally, the C-Flat zones in between C2 and C3 (which aren’t dipping as steeply as the ‘real’ C-zones) also revealed excellent assay results with 2.1 meters and 3 meters of in excess of 17 g/t gold.
Integra Gold is currently drilling with no less than 4 drill rigs at Lamaque, and still expects to start the underground exploration program later this month. Additionally, the current backlog of drilled but unassayed holes now totals almost 75,000 meters, so you can be sure it will be a very busy summer for Integra Gold.
