Callinex Mines (CNX.V) has reported the first assay results from its summer drill program at the Sourdough area of its large Pine Bay project. Hole 005 has intersected almost 25 meters of Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) mineralization after it intersected the edge of a geophysical target.
According to Callinex, ‘The results from this drill hole enhance the likelihood that the borehole geophysical target is solely caused by conductive bands and stringers of massive sulphides that may be laterally associated with more significant base and precious metal values. Upon completion of SDB-005, two additional borehole electromagnetic surveys were conducted with various loop configurations to further refine and isolate nearby conductive responses.’
The Sourdough area seems to keep the geologists quite busy, and Callinex is now planning to test the geophysical target in its next drill program as the past few drill holes are indicating the geology is becoming increasingly interesting towards the north (see the next image), where the geophysical target has been identified.
As the mineralized values in the 25 meter interval weren’t really too exciting at all, we are waiting to see the assay results from hole 284-3-93-DPN, which is one of the historical Placer Dome holes that has now been deepened by Callinex Mines as the company thinks Placer didn’t drill deep enough.
