Axiom Mining (ASX:AVQ) has now finally received approval for its Mining Lease Application on the San Jorge nickel deposit, which is an integral part of the Isabel Nickel Project on the Solomon Islands. The approval is subject to final confirmation from the Attorney-General (who has already expressed his verbal support before), but this shouldn’t take too much time.
On top of that, Axiom was also granted two prospecting license applications on the Kolosori and Tenement D zones, covering a total surface area of 181 square kilometers. The largest new tenement, Tenement D, was previously owned by Sumitomo, and is located on strike of and surrounds the Kolosori license which was previously owned by Axiom as well.
The next step for Axiom will now be to secure funding to bring this nickel project into production. This shouldn’t take too long.
