Labrador Gold (LAB.V) has completed a first phase of its gold exploration plans at the Hopedale gold project, located on the Florence Lake greenstone belt. Almost 7,800 soil samples were taken and analyzed, and these samples indicated the existence of two separate large arsenic anomalies.
And ‘large’ really means large: the Misery grid hosts two anomalies of 3300 by 800 meters and 1500 by 300 meters, while the Jasmine grid seems to be hosting a 246 hectare anomaly with anomalous arsenic values. As you know, arsenic is an excellent pathfinder mineral helping exploration geologists to discover gold, but this doesn’t guarantee a successful outcome.
To follow up on these anomalies, technical advisor Shawn Ryan has instructed the field geologists to start drilling extremely shallow holes (usually not deeper than 10-15 centimeter), collect the rock powder and assay it on the spot with an XRF gun.
