Allegiant Gold (AUAU.V) has notified the market it has completed a maiden drill program on its Monitor Hills project in Nevada. Monitor Hills is located approximately 35 kilometers southeast of Tonopah, and has been the subject of a previously completed mapping and geochemical program. Allegiant also collected in excess of 250 samples from outcrop at Monitor Hills, which identified eight specific target zones at Monitor Hills where grades of in excess of 1 g/t gold have been detected in outcrop.
Allegiant originally planned to drill-test these anomalies as part of a 2,150 meter drill program which consisted of 10-12 rotary drill holes but in its update wherein Allegiant confirms the drill program has been completed, it seems to have drilled 20% more holes and meters (2,535 meters in 15 RC holes). It has now been just over 4 weeks since the drill program has been completed, so we expect to see assay results any day now.
