Eagle Plains Resources (EPL.V) has confirmed last week it suspended the drilling activity on its fully owned Donna gold project, located about 60 kilometers east of Vernon, BC. The company had hoped to complete a small drill program before the winter would set in, but was surprised by the sudden winter conditions in eastern BC. The snow and icy conditions made it virtually impossible for the water trucks to get water to the drill site, so Eagle Plains decided to call it a day, demobilize the drill rig and head back out to Donna in the spring of 2021.
Safety first, and although we were looking forward to seeing what Eagle Plains would have been able to hit with this small 5-7 hole, 1,500 meter drill program, it’s obvious the safety of the drill crew and suppliers comes first.
Fortunately there will be some news flow from the other properties. SKRR Exploration (SKRR.V) has already completed almost 1,400 meters of drilling in ten holes on the Olson property in the Trans Hudson Corridor in Saskatchewan, and an additional 3 or 4 holes will be completed before the end of the current drill program. According to Eagle Plains’s update, field geologists have indicated the drill bit has indeed intersected sulphide mineralization, so let’s see if the holes are also mineralized.
