Fireweed Metals (FWZ.V) continues to pull high-grade intervals out of the ground at the Boundary zone, part of its Macmillan Pass project in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Last week, the company released the assay results of four holes, NB23-034 to NB23-037 and two of these holes intersected high-grade zinc mineralization. With 18.98% zinc, 2.24% lead and 115 g/t silver over a true width of 44 meters and 11.58% zinc, 1.75% lead and 55 g/t silver over a true width of 47 meters, holes 36 and 37 clearly were the best of the bunch.
And although those two holes were the best, we shouldn’t discredit the other holes either as 21 meters of 13% ZnPb in hole 34 and 20 meters (reported width) of 7.65% ZnPb in hole 35 are definitely adding value as well.
The company has completed 39 holes at the Boundary Zone in 2023 and only three of those holes were infill drill holes. This means that all results of the other 36 holes will contribute towards resource expansion at Macmillan Pass. Fireweed also drilled 11 holes on the Tom and Jason deposits and assay results for those holes are still pending.
