Fireweed Metals (FWZ.V) has announced it has been awarded two separate grants from both the Canadian and the US government to advance two of its most important projects.

The Canadian government has awarded a C$12.9M grant to lead planning for road and power infrastructure for its Macmillan pass critical minerals project. As zinc is included in Canada’s list of  critical minerals, this grant is mainly focusing on further advancing the Macmillan pass zinc project (but the infrastructure will of course also be helpful towards hopefully developing the Mactung deposit.

A second grant, to the tune of US$15.8M, will be issued by the US Department of Defense to advance the Mactung tungsten project towards a final investment decision. This grant is definitely not a surprise as it accidentally was shown during a power point slide show of the US DoD a few quarters ago. But it is of course always good to see the grant actually being awarded.
