Aztec Minerals (AZT.V) has released the assay results of four holes drilled on its Tombstone gold-silver property in Arizona and the two holes that were drilled at the southern end of the Contention pit were exceptionally interesting with hole TR24-16 drawing most of the attention. Within an interval of 106.4 meters starting at just 25.9 meters down hole, the company intersected almost 148 g/t silver-equivalent but within that 106 meter of mineralized rock, the drill bit intersected bonanza grade silver mineralization.
As the table above shows, there was a 25.8 meter interval – starting at just 70 meters down hole – which returned a stunning 3.48 g/t gold and 290.5 g/t silver for a total silver-equivalent grade of 569 g/t. Within that 25.8 meter interval, there was a 1.5 meter zone where the silver-equivalent grade reached 7,269 g/t thanks to 3669 g/t in silver and 45 g/t of gold. This also means the residual 24.3 meters of that hole still returned 155 g/t silver-equivalent; so while the 1.5 meter interval provided a nice overall boost to the grade, the remainder of that interval carries a pretty good grade as well.
Needless to say the two holes drilled towards the south of the Contention pit have successfully extended the mineralization towards the south and we are looking forward to seeing Aztec’s plan of action for 2025 to follow up on these high-grade gold and silver results.
