High Desert Gold (HDG.V) has now completed 34 reverse circulation drill holes on its 82% owned Gold Springs property and now announces the results of six more holes. The best result is an excellent intercept of 61 meters at 1.07g/t gold-equivalent, which included a shorter intercept of 20 meters at 2.84g/t gold-equivalent or 1.5 meters at 8.57g/t gold. As this is an oxidized deposit amenable for heap leaching, a 2.84g/t grade is very remarkable. The hole ended in mineralization, suggesting the potential ore body might extend below the current depth of almost 150 meters.
Other holes such as 13-02 are also very interesting, intersecting in excess of 71 meters at 0.81g/t gold and 10g/t silver. The company notes several mineralized zones which were intersected through drilling have outcrops on the surface, which is a big advantage for a future mine development.
This is an excellent update from High Desert Gold, as not only does the grade improve over the current average grade of the outlined mineralization, but the company also made a lot of progress proving up a larger mineralized area. The company comments ‘Since the best hole in this set of results, GE-13-05, is the hole drilled furthest to the SW the mineralized zone is open to potential expansion in this direction’ which would obviously result in a considerable increase of the current resource estimate.
