Aztec Minerals (AZT.V) has released the assay results of three more holes that were drilled on its flagship Tombstone property in Arizona.
The first two holes already contained some decent results with in excess of 100 meters of 0.75 g/t gold-equivalent, the fresh batch of three holes also encountered thick intervals of oxide-hosted mineralization. The real eye-catcher was the assay result encountered in hole 5 with 114.3 meters containing 0.39 g/t gold and 16.61 g/t silver for a total gold-equivalent grade of 0.60 g/t. The mineralized intervals in the other two holes were slightly weaker but 35 meters of 0.36 g/t AuEq, 88.4 meters containing 0.45 g/t AuEq and 123.5 meters containing 0.38 g/t AuEq should all meet the cutoff grade for a heap leach project thanks to the low processing cost associated with heap leach mines.
Aztec Minerals has now completed 15 Reverse Circulation drill holes at the Contention area and the Westside area which means the assay results for 10 holes are still pending. The initial results from the first five holes are very encouraging as they further expand the known mineralized envelope with what should be economic-grade material.
