Berkeley Energia (ASX:BKY, LON:BKY) has discovered more broad high-grade mineralization immediately below the Zona 7 which emphasizes the potential at depth of this uranium project.
Berkeley has drilled three holes from surface straight through the Zona 7 where it has assayed almost 19 meters of approximately 4 pounds of uranium per tonne, as well as 6 meters containing roughly 7 pounds of uranium. The company immediately started an additional exploration program to follow up on these results.
This additional drill program has now started and will initially focus on eleven targets which were created based on geophysics and historical information. All eleven targets are within a 10 kilometer radius from the location where the processing plant is expected to be built, and two rigs have now started a 10,000 meter drill program.
This could be an additional milestone for Berkeley as adding more high-grade uranium to the Salamanca project could further improve the economics of this deposit.
