Comstock Metals (CSL.V) has unveiled its summer exploration program on its Preview SW gold project in Saskatchewan. On top of completing a ground magnetics, geochemical sampling and structural interpretation program, the company is also gearing up to complete at least 2,000 meters in diamond drilling which will continue to drill-test Preview North where the assay results of the winter drill program confirmed the existence of more gold mineralization (with at least 5 parallel veins).
At North, the drill bit will test for lateral and down dip extensions to the veins and vein zones along the northeast trend, and it’s exciting to see this zone getting more attention now, as it has the potential to quickly add ounces to the consolidated resource estimate of 429,000 ounces at an average grade of approximately 1.6 g/t gold.
At the ‘main’ Preview SW deposit, the summer drill program will focus on extending the deposit south of the current resource and drilling, and check for higher grade zones at depth, below the current pit shell.
Comstock Metals will have two horses in the race now as the company will be drilling both projects this summer. This should result in a continuous news flow and especially the QV gold project in the Yukon will very likely get a lot of attention from the market.
