District Metals (DMX.V) has released the results from the airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey on its Svardsjo project in Sweden’s Bergslagen mining district. This survey started about six months ago, and the technical team of District Metals has now completed the interpretation of the data.

The survey has identified five conductive targets on the Svardsjo project, and Target 3 seems to be the one the company is the most excited about as it consists of a 600 meter long conductive and magnetic high trend extending way beyond (over 500 meters) the historical mine workings at Svardsjo (where historical records indicate at least 1 million tonnes of rock has been mined with average grades of almost 4 oz/t silver, 8.7% ZnPb and 0.6% copper.

As you can see on the image at the top of this blog post, Target 3 is by far the largest area of interest. Not only does it extend for about 600 meters, it also has an average width of 200-300 meters and reaches a depth of up to 500 meters in some areas. As the 500 meter level is the maximum depth of the survey, the anomaly may actually extend to deeper levels.

We will follow up on this and the other projects in District’s Swedish portfolio with CEO Garrett Ainsworth who just returned from Sweden.
