Eagle Plains Resources (EPL.V) has mobilized its ground staff to start the summer exploration activities on its fully owned Ant Lake copper-nickel-PGE project in Saskatchewan. There isn’t a whole lot of information available on Ant Lake (the project doesn’t even have a page on the company’s website), but it looks like historical trench results were encouraging.

The recent press release issued by Eagle Plains also highlights one historical hole which intersected 3.5 meters of 0.37% copper, 0.12 g/t palladium and 0.1 g/t platinum relatively close to surface. Of course that interval will have to be followed up on with additional exploration and drilling activities as the project hasn’t seen any significant exploration since 2012.

Elsewhere in Saskatchewan, Eagle Plains’ joint venture partner on the Knife Lake project, Rockridge Resources (ROCK.V) is getting ready for its summer/Fall exploration program which will follow up on the results from the past drill program. The company is planning to complete an airborne electromagnetic survey using the VTEM Plus system to identify additional VMS-style mineralization at Knife Lake. The survey that will be conducted in the next few weeks and months should result in the company generating additional drill targets for a planned diamond drill program later this year.
