Kenorland Minerals (KLD.V) has now officially confirmed the 10,000 meter drill program on the Regnault discovery, part of the Frotet gold project in Quebec, has started. This drill program will follow up on the almost 18,000 meters that have been drilled at Regnault during the summer. The assay results of only half of the summer program have been released so far so we are expecting to see assay results from an additional 8,000 meters of drilling within the next few weeks but it’s clear Kenorland and partner Sumitomo don’t want to wait for those results.

About 60% of the 10,000 meters has been earmarked for stepping out along the R1 structure where it will be targeting the down plunge extensions of the high-grade gold mineralization along the corridor. Twelve holes have been planned to drill-test the mineralization at depth which means the average hole will be approximately 500 meters deep. This should help the joint venture partners to add tonnage and ounces as depth as the R1 structure has only been drilled up to a depth of just around 275 meters from surface.

Kenorland and Sumitomo will drill about 2,500 meters on the R2 trend as part of an infill drill program which is aiming to connect the dots between R2 West and R2 East. The remaining 15% of the drill program, good for 1,500 meters of drilling, will drill-test gold-bearing zones north of the R1 corridor.

Once this 10,000 meter drill program will be completed, Kenorland and Sumitomo will have drilled about 45,000 meters at Regnault and the joint venture partners will likely add a more meters during the next summer drill program.
