Mawson Finland (MFL.V) released aditional soil geochemical results from its Rajapalot flagship project in Finland. The company gathered soils samples across just over 2,400 points which will be followed up on using bottom-of-till drill platform to trace the soil anomalies back to the bedrock. That bottom-of-till program should be in full swing by now and are a prelude to yet another robust diamond drill program. Four drill rigs are expected to arrive in January with drilling anticipated to start later this month. The company anticipates to complete 12,000-15,000 meters of drilling at Rajapalot as part of the winter drill program.
The company plans to drill-test the most interesting zones that will pop up from the bottom-of-till drill program in the final phase of its drill program. The entire diamond drill program is expected to be completed by the end of April 2025 and is mainly geared towards increasing the inferred resource estimate at Rajapalot. An increased resource will then be the basis for an updated economic study at Rajapalot and it goes without saying we can reasonably expect the application of a higher gold price in combination with a larger resource to result in improved economics for the project (despite the lower cobalt price).
