Medallion Resources (MDL.V) CEO Don Lay can now check an additional box on his ‘To Do’-list as its commercial partner in the USA, Rare Earth Salts, has confirmed it has been able to separate the REE concentrate provided by Medallion into marketable rare earth oxides.
And RES wasn’t ‘just successful’ in separating the REE’s, it actually mentioned Medallion’s chemical concentrate ranks among the best of all 40 samples it has processed as it ‘provides superior physical properties that allow for straightforward processing in our system’. Additionally, both Medallion and Rare Earth Salts seem to be excited about the high content of magnet metals (neodymium and praseodymium) in the monazite-derived concentrate.
It’s important to realize this is a very important step for Medallion, as it has now confirmed it it’s able to convert monazite into a valuable REE concentrate, and it’s now up to the company to further strengthen its ties with Rare Earth Salts, as this will become its most important trading partner to establish a North American supply chain for important Rare Earth Elements.
