Metalstech (MTC.AX) has confirmed its scoping study on the flagship Sturec gold project in Slovakia is in the final phase and the results should be released in the next few weeks. The study will be based on a 1.5 million tonnes per annum processing capacity and the company expects the study will show a total of just over 1 million gold-equivalent ounces will be recovered over a 15 year mine life. The mine plan calls for a combined open pit and underground mine scenario, and the company has pledged to minimize the environmental and social impacts on two nearby towns.
Keep in mind the scoping study will be based on the existing resource estimate which means a bunch of the recently released exciting holes will not be included in the study.
Meanwhile the exploration activities are obviously still ongoing. The diamond drill program is in full swing and hole UGA-41 is currently being completed while the company is working on the completion of drill chamber IV which should be operational in June. Future drill programs from this chamber will focus on extending the gold mineralization along strike to the south.
