Metalstech (MTC.AX) is still drilling its flagship Sturec gold-silver project in Slovakia, and assay results and visual observations are still coming in. In a recent update, the company confirmed it has encountered visible gold in hole 41 at a downhole depth of approximately 131 meters.
That’s very encouraging as this hole was drilled below hole 30 where the drill bit intersected 173 meters containing 3.27 g/t gold and 11.8 g/t silver including several high-grade intervals like 8 meters at 7.16 g/t gold and 19 meters containing 11.35 g/t gold.
Encountering visible gold right below such intercepts is very encouraging but the lab results will be the real ‘truth machine’. If the lab results indeed confirm the presence of gold, it would extend the known gold mineralization at depth, below the current resource estimate.
Encountering visible gold below hole 30 isn’t new to Metalstech as hole 43 – which was also drilled below hole 30 – also encountered visible gold. That hole was sent to the lab earlier in June and results should be out in July. Keep in mind hole 43 was drilled down dip so although the company intersected in excess of 150 meters of argillic altered and brecciated andesite, the true width will be more narrow at approximately 90 meters at the top of the hole and about 30 meters at the bottom of the hole.
