MinQuest (ASX:MNQ) has released an updated resource estimate at the Marg project which is located in Canada’s Yukon Territory. The total resource now stands at almost 10 million tonnes of 1.3% copper, 5.3% ZnPb as well as 1.5 ounces of silver per tonne of rock and 0.75 g/t gold.
The total amount of tonnes is lower compared to the resource estimate from 2013, but the average grade has increased from 3.19% CuEq to 3.51% CuEq. The lower amount of tonnes might seem to be disappointing, but in the current resource market the grade is more important than the total tonnage. A next step for MinQuest will be to do some further metallurgical testing to try to increase the recovery rate of the copper and lead.
