NevGold (NAU.V) reported last week it identified high-grade copper, gold and silver mineralization on its Zeus copper project in Idaho. As you may remember, the Zeus project is located in the Hercules Copper District in the Southwestern part of Idaho.

NevGold has released the assay results of a surface sampling program on its tenements, and several samples returned high-grade copper and gold, as shown in the bullet points below. It’s interesting to note the samples were taken during the claim staking process and were not part of a methodological sampling program.

Of course, surface samples are what they are: just surface samples. The company is now continuing its field program with additional geochemical sampling and geophysical surveys which will hopefully narrow down the list of ‘areas of interest’ to some drill-ready targets. According to CEO Bonifacio, the sampling results ‘further validate the copper porphyry potential’ while VP Exploration Unger mentions ‘the mineralization is widely scattered over the entire property’.

The company now also named some of its main areas of interest, and we’d recommend you to read NevGold’s entire press release as the company goes into great detail providing background information on the different targets and why they sparked the technical team’s interest.

We are looking forward to seeing NevGold’s next steps in the Hercules Copper District.
