Voltaic Minerals (VLT.V) has now started a first phase of its work program on the Green Energy Lithium Property in Utah (‘GEL’). During this first phase, the company will build a 3D model using historical estimates and drill results to get a better understanding of what it’s exactly sitting on.
The company will predominantly focus on a potential lithium-bearing zone known as Clastic 31, which is located at a depth of approximately 1,800 meters. This zone contains almost 10 meters of shale and dolomite that aren’t associated with oil in the direct neighborhood. It’s the company’s belief (based on engineering reports from halfway the previous century) the lithium-bearing zone might have a total surface area of in excess of 25 square kilometers, recharged by the inflow of ‘artesian’ water.
Clastic 31 isn’t the only area of interest on the Green Energy Lithium property, and Voltaic plans to insert geologic and seismic data into the 3D model to generate additional exploration targets to build a lithium-focused resource estimate sooner rather than later.
