Western Alaska Minerals (WAM.V) has released the assay results from hole 5, which was drilled at the Warm Springs target, a part of the Illinois Creek project. That hole intersected three separate zones of mineralization (shown below) with some narrow but high grade assay results with the first interval of 1.15 meters encountering pretty spectacular grades for silver (687 g/t) and zinc (almost 34%). The 8 meter interval further down wasn’t that great other than the 0.7 meter interval where grades picked up, while the third interval, starting at 352 meters downhole saw grades pick up again over a decent width with just over 3.2 meters containing 88.5 g/t silver and 6.39% ZnPb.

According to the company’s technical team, this year’s drill program has discovered a new spoke (a key element to the CRD thesis) of the Illinois Creek CRD system as the mineralization at Warm Springs converts the target from just a target to a confirmed prospect. Although the mineralization occurred in thin intervals, encountering the mineralization validates the model.
